National Power Corporation Natures Park

One of the major tourist spots when you go to Iligan City also known as the "City of Majestic Waterfalls" is the National Power Corporation Natures Park. 




It is a home of the grandest and most magnificent among the less than 30 waterfalls, the Maria Cristina Falls. Sometimes it is called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the wall. Legend has it, that the rocks surround the pool were said to be the formidable magical war boat of Prince Bantogen, a Maranao-Maguindanao epic hero “Darangen".



On the ground of 320 feet high falls, that spews 130 cubic meters per second of water is a long standing Agus VI Hydroelectric Plant, operated by the National Power Corporation that generates 70% of Mindanao’s Electricity.



Additional amenities and recreational facilities have been added to the nature park so that visitors can enjoy the view of natural beauty and grandeur of the place.
