White Water Tubing At Maitum Sarangani

Posted by Unknown On 10:11 PM No comments
After the extraordinary white wild water rafting in Cagayan De Oro, my body still craves for more adventure. The only hindrance is that I am now limited with budget. I’m glad my officemates invited me to go in Maitum Sarangani Province to try White Water Tubing; they said it was an extreme but very affordable adventure.

When we arrive at Maitum, we headed directly to sitio New La Union; this was our base point. Entrance fee is 10 pesos per person, and 150 pesos for the ride.  They provide us with a life vest and helmet with individual guides and of-course the most significant gear is the TUBE which is an interior of big tires. With all the provided gears and equipments I should say this is really reasonably priced, and I would recommend this for the limited budget adventurer like me.

They will also provide a motorcycle going to the starting point of water tubing.

Geared up and excited, before jumping into the water there will be a short briefing regarding the do’s and dont’s when struggling with the rapids. Riding in a tube is very simple, you just need to grip the two rubber handles, relax and enjoy the extreme rides with the rapids.

Pangi River is 1.6 km; it takes us about 15 minutes to make it to the end point. It was fun and thrilling flipping over and drank a mouthful of water.

Trekking Amsikong Falls

If you desire to make River Trekking, Caving, Swimming and Rock Climbing in a one way trip adventure, then go to General Santos City hidden paradise located at Barangay Conel. Together with my friends, we decided to unwind ourselves from the ever stress working environment through nature bonding.

Ride with our motorcycle we headed to the Conel Barangay Hall to inform the Barangay captain’s office about our plan to hike, and have our name logged on their record. They will also provide a guide who knows the place and the safes route for an adventure.

On our way to the falls, we have to do river trekking and rock climbing. It is really an adrenaline pumping adventure. Some of our colleagues almost gave up because of the obstacles we had encountered.

After several hours we finally reached the first falls. According to our guide it has a total of seven cascade falls that has deep blue and clean waters.

There are two steel case ladders that you can use prior to reach second and third falls, which has been set-up by the local government.

It was indeed a fun and exciting adventure, everyone is exhausted but we have a very remarkable day to remember.

One of the major tourist spots when you go to Iligan City also known as the "City of Majestic Waterfalls" is the National Power Corporation Natures Park.

It is a home of the grandest and most magnificent among the less than 30 waterfalls, the Maria Cristina Falls. Sometimes it is called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the wall. Legend has it, that the rocks surround the pool were said to be the formidable magical war boat of Prince Bantogen, a Maranao-Maguindanao epic hero “Darangen".

On the ground of 320 feet high falls, that spews 130 cubic meters per second of water is a long standing Agus VI Hydroelectric Plant, operated by the National Power Corporation that generates 70% of Mindanao’s Electricity.

Additional amenities and recreational facilities have been added to the nature park so that visitors can enjoy the view of natural beauty and grandeur of the place.

Location :
Agus 6/7 HEP Complex, Tourism Triangle Boundary, Ma. Cristina, Buru-un, Iligan City.

Fort San Pedro Cebu

Posted by Unknown On 5:40 AM No comments
One of the most visited places in Cebu is Fort San Pedro or Fuerza San Pedro, Also known for its triangular shape. The two sides are facing the sea and the third side fronting the land, that served as stronghold for Filipino soldiers.

Despite of the ages, Fort San Pedro is well preserved by the Government and now turned to National Shrine.

Fort San Pedro Museum, holds many historical items to learn its history.

Old artillery cannon  used by Filipino Soldiers.

It is located in the area now called Plaza Indepedencia, in the Pier Area of Cebu City.
It was our Second day in Camiguin. The sky is clear and just a perfect weather condition for snorkeling, sunbathing and swimming. Our second destination is White Island; we took a 15 minute boat ride on our way to the island. Awesome! This was my reaction upon seeing the white sand beach. It is a horseshoe shape with no trees and shades, so be sure to bring with you your sunblock. Some locals are also renting snorkeling gears and umbrellas. But for hygienic purpose I suggest to bring your own.

We ride a small boat, and took us 15 minutes to get there.

The view is simply amazing, as you can have a scenic view of Mt. Hibok-Hibok and Old Volcano as its backdrop.

We accessed the island trough Rocky Village, Yumbing Mambajao that is around 2 kilometers away.
