Hangover SarBay Fest 2014

Once again Sarangani Bay Festival 2014 proves that it is indeed the biggest beach party in Mindanao. Almost 100k guest from different places traveled just to experience the awesome event. This year, they introduced three new events to make SarBay festival worth visiting, the following event was SarBay Triathlon for the Environment, the Paddle Board Clinic and the Sarbay Jet Ski Competition. 

I’ve been attending SarBay fest for a number of times already, this time I noticed the well organized parking area, the tent city/village which is established away from the shores and the bigger chill out area.

This biggest beach party was a one heck of an event and a summer getaway, so I and the rest of the gangs spend the days like there is no tomorrow.  We had party overnight, drink all you can and laugh out loud.

Huge number of guest comming from different places joined and witnessed the fun brought by SarBay fest.

Jet Ski are prepared and arranged for the competition.

Beach party will not be completed unless there is a Sand Sculpture competition.

Not only the place but the sunset also put a good show for the picturesque view.

And at night before the party started, make sure you have yourself ink with henna tattoos offered by various tattoo artist.

The most awaited and highlight in the first day of SarBay fest the summer party at the bay Foam Party! And let's dance babolbat! :D

On the last day of the event, the grand fireworks display will amuse the guest before the main band Kamikazee play. The view was breath-taking and fascinating.

Sarangani Bay Festival is the very best way to conclude my summer vacation; together with my jolly and good friends it leaves a lot of wonderful memories and sometimes out-and-out craziness. With their company it makes me want to come back again next year. Thanks so much KWOC and the rest of the gangs! Fun Summer Escapade at Britania Group of Islands

It is really amazing to visit Tinuy-an Falls and Enchanted River, however Surigao del Sur still has lots to offer for your summer vacation. A white sand beach that is composed of 24 islets scattered around Lianga Bay suitable for the best island hopping experience are called The Britania Group of Islands. 

To make our visit in Surigao del Sur more unforgettable, we use up our last day at Britania Group of Islands. Then we settled at Mac Arthurs Place where the accommodation is cheap and highly recommendable for the nice customer service they have, we fixed our things and prepare ourselves for the next morning Island hopping adventure.

All set and done, the boat that will take us to our adventure is now ready and good to go. So we walk to a wooden pathway that leads us our ride.

The site is remarkably incredible, it’s like a mini Hundred Islands in Pangasinan.

Our boatman includes three islets in their itinerary. First we visit Hagonoy Island, a small pear shape island with a wreck wooden house and has fair share of coconut trees makes it look like a scene from the movie Pirate of the Caribbean.

After we feast ourselves with the fantastic view of the island we then headed to our next islet stop, The Hiyor-Hiyoran Island which is rocky and known for its small caves.

Kathy wrote I love Surigao on the bed of white sand.

Finally the last on our list is the Buslon Island. The small island has a statue of the Virgin Mary which was put up by the island owner. This is also where we took our lunch prepared by Mac Arthurs Place.

The province has a lot to offer in terms of tourist destination. And also don’t forget for your bring home goodies just stop at the REST AREA located at britania, where you can buy various item made of iron wood as they called it.

Surigao del Sur really is a very awesome place to visit, you can even call it a one stop shop. Our stay in Britania is a one worth remembering experience.

Adventure At Lemlunay Resort

It was a hot and sunny day, the sky is clear an ideal time to visit the beach. Together with the gangs we depart to Lemlunay resort located at the southwest corner of Sarangani Bay in the province of Sarangani. The resort can be seen from the highway left side from General Santos City.

As we arrived in the place, the awesome view of infinity pool welcomed us. It was well maintained and clean.  Entrance fee is 100 pesos but consumable, you can select if you want to consume it for food or swim in their infinity pool.

Wi-Fi is installed in the restaurant area too; just don’t expect it to be fast. Foods are average and not much to choose from. Almost all of the rooms are good for 3 persons but you can add 2 beds (P200/mattress). Poolside rooms are more costly than the ocean view but are worth it, Ocean view room cost 2500 pesos and Poolside room is 3000 pesos where you can enjoy swim at night time.

This is it! Since we are here for swimming we try their snorkeling. We rent gear and life vest for 250 pesos. There are few corals but so many colorful fishes.  Beware also that there are time that the sea current are strong, and you are advice not to swim further and just be close to the ropes that they have provided.

Tuka Bay Marine Sanctuary Park

Sarangani is a home of attractive white sand beaches; One of the must see place when you visit in Kiamba Sarangani is the Tuka Bay Marine Sanctuary Park. A picturesque view of blue green water and a colorful corals with amazing formations wealthy in the area, it is a protected area where fishing is banned. The place has four protected coves and only Tuka 2 is unrestricted.

To get there we rent a boat worth 1500 pesos, which can accommodate up to 15 people. Life vest are included and they will wait until you finished exploring the place and bring you back to Kiamba.

We also found Peoples champ Manny Pacquiao’s rest house facing the beach. I wonder what it feels like when you sleep on Peoples champ rest house. Hahaha But on our case we just rented a cottage that cost 300 pesos and you can opt stay there overnight.

The place is good for snorkeling and scuba diving, for only 100 pesos you can rent snorkeling equipment and start exploring the waters. But for hygiene and sanitation purpose I suggest you bring your own gears.

Tuka Marine Park is also home of birds and primates.

On our way back to Kiamba we see fisherman boats going offshore for fishing.
